Everything your child needs is already in the box
No extra supplies, no hunting for projects, no guessing what to do next. Your child follows clear video lessons and you get a course that’s ready to go.
What this means for your child
Design is a skill that shows up everywhere, from school projects to future jobs. Level One gives them a strong start.
Screen time with a purpose
They’re already on a computer or tablet. Now that time goes into making something, solving creative problems and finishing projects.
Real confidence
Every lesson ends with something they made themselves. Finishing a poster or a book cover shows them what they’re capable of.
A head start at school
Canva is used for book reports, slideshows and posters. Your child will know how to make them look great and stand out.
An eye for design
They learn line, shape, colour, texture, space, balance and alignment, so they can tell why some designs work and others don’t.
A door to future possibilities
Design skills are in demand and open doors to many careers. It’s also how I’m able to work from home and homeschool my own kids.
Work they get to keep
Each assignment is copied into their own Canva account, so they build a portfolio of designs to print, share and be proud of.
How each lesson works
Every lesson follows the same simple rhythm, so your child always knows what to do next.
Watch
A short video walks through each Canva tool. They can pause and rewatch as often as they like.
Fix it up
They repair “mixed-up designs” and learn to spot what’s off, and how to fix it.
Create
Then they make their own original project using what they just learned.
Check it
A printable design checklist helps them review and improve their own work.
What they’ll take away
- A solid grasp of the basic elements of design
- Confidence using Canva’s most useful tools and features
- Typography skills: choosing fonts, formatting, shadows and animation
- A collection of finished designs saved in their own account
- The know-how to make their own designs for school and for fun
Projects they’ll make
Fun things kids actually want to create, print and share.

Taught by a designer who’s also a homeschool mom
Hi, I’m Pam! I’m a professional website designer and homeschool mom of two in British Columbia, Canada. I never got to learn these skills as a kid, and I know what a difference they’ve made. Design led to a career I love, and made it possible for me to work and homeschool my children.
I created this course while teaching my own 12-year-old son, so every lesson has been tested with a real kid at the keyboard.

Questions parents ask
What does my child need to take the course?
A free Canva account. Canva Pro gives more options, but every lesson and assignment is designed around the free version.
What age is it for?
I recommend ages 10 and up. If your child can read, use a mouse and follow instructions, they should do well. Younger kids may need a little help from you. It’s also a perfect starting point for teens.
Does my child need any design experience?
None at all. Level One is made for beginners.
How long will we have access?
12 months from purchase, plenty of time to go at your own pace.
How many lessons should we do each week?
Your child works at their own pace. To finish in one school term, aim for at least one lesson a week and leave time for the final project.
Will my child be able to keep their designs?
Yes! Each assignment is set up so they can make a copy in their own Canva account. They can print, share and reuse them.
What is the refund policy?
You can request a refund within 30 days of purchase as long as the course hasn’t been started. If life gets in the way and your child can’t finish within the 12 months, email me and we’ll work something out.
Can we use homeschool funding?
Often, yes. If a third party needs to purchase on your behalf, have them email hello@pamlauzon.com with your first and last name and email address. I’ll send them an invoice and send you an invitation to create your login.
Is this a membership or subscription?
No. It’s a single payment of $40 CAD.
Does my child have to join the community?
No. It’s optional and only for students and parents. Students never need to share their name, photo or personal information.
